Aloha and welcome. I'm George WH6AZ, and I
made RadioMail,
the Winlink email application for iPhone
and
iPad. This is RadioMail 2.0.
It's a completely new app
rebuilt from the ground up with everything
I've learned over the last few years.
Let me show you what it can do.
[upbeat music]
If you have a UV-Pro radio, turn it on
and RadioMail finds
it automatically over Bluetooth.
Pick a nearby gateway, tap Connect,
and your mail goes out over
the air.
No cables,
nothing else required for off-grid email.
Any radio with a mic
and speaker jack works, too.
Plug in a Digi RigLite,
check your levels with a monitor, and
RadioMail built-in packet modem does the
rest.
With an IC-705, there is no cable at all.
RadioMail finds the radio on your Wi-Fi,
sets it up for packet order,
and select the right mode
and frequency for you.
Now you can reach far away gateways over
HF while keeping your iPhone
in your hand. Not sure
which gateway to try?
RadioMail ranks nearby stations by how
likely you are to connect
right now from your location.
Slide ahead a few hours to see
when a path opens up.
And when there is no gateway at all,
RadioMail can listen for
other operators.
Another station connects straight to you,
and the message goes radio
to radio. No internet needed.
Your mail follows you,
too. Send from your iPhone
while offline in the field, then
read and reply at your desk on the Mac.
iCloud keeps your mail in sync on all your
devices automatically.
And Winlink forms finally fit your phone.
Turn on the mobile-friendly layout,
and forms like the Winlink check-in
reflow to fit the screen,
so you just type instead of scrolling
and zooming constantly.
Each episode dives into more details.
Pick the one for your radio,
and I'll see you on the air.
Mahalo and 73.
